THE UNDERCOAT

Unlike ordinary wool, pashmina comes from the fine undercoat that goats naturally grow to survive Himalayan winters. This layer is not sheared like conventional fleece. It is collected during seasonal molting, when the fibers are naturally released. Each goat yields only a small amount per year making true pashmina inherently limited long before it reaches a loom.

FINENESS

The softness of pashmina is not subjective, it is structural. The fibers typically measure between 12–15 microns in diameter, significantly finer than traditional sheep’s wool. The finer the fiber, the softer the hand-feel and the more effectively it traps air without weight.

INSULATION WITHOUT WEIGHT

Each fiber has a natural crimp and hollow core structure that traps air. Air, not thickness, is what insulates. This allows pashmina to provide warmth disproportionate to its weight , remaining breathable in motion while retaining heat in stillness.

Collection & Design Concept

Each collection begins internally, where material leads the creative direction. We define silhouette, proportion, and construction based on how the fiber is intended to behave — not seasonal trends. Early-stage design studies focus on balance, longevity, and structural clarity, ensuring every garment has purpose before development moves forward.

Material Selection

Cashmere is evaluated for fineness, fiber length, and consistency. We assess how the material responds to tension, movement, and finishing processes to ensure it aligns with the demands of the design. Selection is guided by performance and integrity rather than appearance alone.

Pattern Development & Sampling

Technical patterns are developed to achieve proportion, drape, and structural harmony. Initial samples are refined through adjustment and testing to ensure the garment maintains its form while remaining comfortable and adaptable in wear. This stage ensures the design translates precisely from concept to construction.

Artisan & Manufacturing Alignment

Production is entrusted to carefully selected partners experienced in handling fine cashmere. We work with manufacturers whose technical capability and finishing standards meet the requirements of the material. Alignment at this stage ensures that craftsmanship supports design intent without compromise.

Construction & Finishing

Garments are knitted or woven with controlled tension and precision. Processes such as linking, washing, and finishing are managed to preserve fiber integrity while enhancing softness and structure. Attention to detail at this stage determines the garment’s longevity and hand-feel.

Final Quality Review

Before release, each piece undergoes inspection for consistency, construction accuracy, and finishing quality. Only garments that meet our internal standards are approved for shipment, ensuring they leave as intended, complete and uncompromised.
