THE BRAND — What Is MXOL?
What is MXOL?
MXOL is a material fashion house. We build every collection around a single material — studied completely, designed deliberately, and held to a standard of longevity over novelty. We are not a trend-driven brand. We are a material-driven one.
What does "material fashion house" mean?
It means the material comes before everything else. Before the silhouette, before the collection name, before any design decision. We begin with a material, understand it fully, and then ask what it wants to become. That process is what every MXOL Volume and Chapter is built on.
What is a Volume?
A Volume is MXOL's dedication to a single material. Every material we work with — cashmere, merino, and others to follow — gets its own Volume. Each Volume is explored in full before the next begins.
What is a Chapter?
A Chapter is an individual collection within a Volume. Each Chapter asks a specific question of its material — how it lives as an everyday garment, how it responds to a different silhouette, what it becomes under a different design intention. Some Chapters complete their run and are retired. Others earn a permanent place in the MXOL Archive.
What is the MXOL Archive?
The Archive is where pieces that have proven themselves live permanently. Not every garment earns Archive status — only the ones that demonstrate, through customer response and time, that they belong there. If you own a piece before it becomes an Archive piece, you were there first.
THE PRODUCT — Materials & Quality
What materials does MXOL work with?
Currently, MXOL's active Volume is cashmere. Future Volumes will introduce additional materials. Each material is announced as its Volume opens — we do not work with a material until we are ready to give it full attention.
What grade of cashmere does MXOL use?
MXOL uses 100% cashmere yarn. Every garment is produced to a single standard: that the fiber composition, stitch density, and finish hold their integrity across extended, daily wear — not just the first time the garment is worn.
What makes an MXOL garment different?
The starting point. Most garments are designed around how they look on the first wear. Every MXOL piece is designed around how it performs on the hundredth. That means no shortcuts in material selection, no compromises in construction, and no details that are not there for a reason.
Are MXOL garments produced responsibly?
Yes. We work with production partners chosen for their material expertise and commitment to quality over volume. Our production runs are intentionally limited — not as a marketing device, but because controlled quantities are how quality is maintained.
Why are MXOL pieces produced in limited quantities?
Because quality at scale is a different product. Limiting our production runs allows us to maintain full oversight of every garment — from yarn selection to final finishing. When a run is complete, it is complete.
